Our journey to Innsbruck took a little longer than we thought mainly due to the slow, winding rail tracks through the Swiss Alps. Nonetheless we got there in one piece and found our hostel with no worries. It´s actually more like a Bed & Breakfast for backpackers but it´s a wicked little place called Nepomuks situated above a cafe all owned by an Austrian family. Breakfast this morning was awesome - freshly baked pastries, coffee & bread.
Last November Sheryl and I passed through Innsbruck on our way from Rome to Munich. At that time of year the mountains that cast a shadow over the little town were covered in snow, but this time it´s totally different. Our first night was pretty low key. A quick walk around the town and along the river to a huge outdoor beer garden place for one on the sly, before pizzas to share at Mama Mia´s pizzeria in the centre of the old town just round the corner from our hostel.
Today we bought an Innsbruck card (24 euros) that gives you 24 hour access to all the local transport and all the town´s top attractions. First up we caught the cable car to the peak of a mountain 2200m above sea level. It was insanely high! After that we went out to the Swarovski crystal art gallery which was a little bizarre but we got some sweet random photos in the room walled with crystals!
We´re off to Salzburg tomorrow and the girls are already getting skatty about The Sound Of Music, but enough jibber jabber and more photos...

Hey Mike. Yeah we were thinking of you when we arrived in Interlaken and then Innsbruck - you would´ve loved it! We´ve met some more Yankee Blue Jeans in our hostel here in Innsbruck but they´re not as much fun as you! (they were yankee blue jocks!)
We took the snap of the Bear Flags in Interlaken. There´s also one of me in a silly hat waving a flag, I´ll email it when I get home.
We´ve also been keeping up the collection of Smart Cars and a a new addition - a mini truck!
We´ll keep in touch.
Love,
Dale, Sheryl & Anna
