After three nights in Brussels, and a day trip out to Brugge, we`re now in little old Luxembourg. This is Europe`s third smallest country and one that can rarely actually fit it`s own name on an atlas, but from what we`ve seen this afternoon it`s a gorgeous little place. You notice the difference in the friendliness of the locals too. Shame we only have time for two nights here.
Our time in Brussels was mainly spent on sampling the local beers. Even the girls got in there and sampled the fruit flavoured ones (apple, peach, cherry, raspberry and more) whilst Mike, a guy from the US who has decided to join us in the meantime, and I got stuck in there with the stronger stuff like Brugges Tripel (8.7%!). Mike is travelling around Europe with no particular plan and decided he`d like to check out this little nation with us.
Brugges was a really pretty old town with heaps of impressive old buildings and churches. Despite the fact the place was heaving with tourists we managed to get some good local advise and sample some genuine Belgian beer and waffles at a decent rate, as opposed to paying twice or three times as much a little over a block away.
Our hostel in Luxembourg city has recently been renovated so everything looks brand new, and we ended up with a four bed dorm to ourself which is sweet. We`ve got one full day here tomorrow before setting off for Freiburg in the Black Forest region of Germany.
Unfortunately the photos aren`t uploading right now but we`ll try and get some on here when we can.

Wow! You're really having a great time aren't you? Nearly every picture of you two involves drinking! Naughty you! You've been lucky with the weather - it was nice here, but now it's showers and a bit of sun, which is quite typical. Hope it continues for you and you both have a great time! See you soon. Love Elaine & Ian xx
