Our Easter weekend was spent up north in Sheffield. We caught the coach up on Friday and caught a connecting journey from London north. It meant another full day's travel, but c'est la vie for the budget travellers that we are! Somewhat ironically most of the traffic was heading the other way. One of the weekend papers reported that some 60,000 people headed to Bournemouth for the long weekend - we went the other way.
We had a great weekend and the early summer weather is definately welcome. On Saturday night we went out for a meal in Sheffield city, followed by a coffee in the town hall square afterwards. On Sunday we went to Chatsworth Hall in Derbyshire, a 15-20 minute drive from Dad's place, home of the Duke of Devonshire.
We didn't go inside the house but spent a good couple of hours wandering around the extravagant garden areas. The place is huge! There were hundreds of others there that day, but it wasn't too crowded which was good.
So back to work this week but much more exciting is the fact we've now booked the start of our next European journey. We (that being Sheryl, Anna and I) fly out from London to Amsterdam on June 5. The flights through easyJet are cheap as chips - only £27 each! (NZ$73)
We've booked for three nights, at St.Christophers at Winston, initially which will hopefully be enough to fit it all in.
Some photos from Chatsworth...

$73 for chips?! I knew the UK was expensive but that's crazy. Or do you need a lot of chips to go with all the pies you've eaten?
Love Dave
