We're officially into British summer time over here now, which is great news. That means it's staying light longer and winter is officially behind us. It really hasn't been that bad down here in Bournemouth, although I've felt the chill getting up so early for work. Hey - we even had the snow that Sheryl had been longing to see! Sadly she was stuck inside at work but more to the point the snow was so light you barely noticed.
My job with the NHS has been going along ok. The work hasn't become much more exciting since I last posted but on the bright side they've extended my contract until after Easter, and the manager is now seeking more money from the budget to keep me on going until a few more jobs are done.
After a few disappointments (and mistakes from one of the recruitment agencies) Sheryl has now found herself a well paying job with the Bank of New York. The stress levels come with it, but it's only for a couple of months until we go travelling in June. Before this she'd done a week long contract mainly doing monotonous data entry work and two days in a call centre at an insurance company before being laid off as they'd hired too many new faces!
It was probably a blessing in disguise though as it wasn't the job (or the pay) Sheryl was lead to believe.
Other than work we've been keeping a low profile and trying to save money for the summer. We're off to London this weekend, and fitting in a football match on the Saturday arvo, and up to Sheffield to see Dad over the long Easter weekend.
We're only a few weeks away from seeing Sheryl's friend Anna too - she's coming down from London for a couple of weekends over April and May.
Happy days!
